Castelijn chairs. Set of two post modern design chairs from the 80s made by Castelijn (the Netherlands). This chair is made of black, skinny metal legs, a purple/blue leather seat and backrest. These Castelijn chairs are called SLA. It has an elegant, sleek, translucent design. Special to mention is the fact that these lovely chairs have only three legs. But the contruction is so good, that the chairs are as solid as any other dining chair. Convenient Postmodern Dutch Design. You can clearly see the signature of the Dutch company Castelijn. Castelijn was one of the well Dutch furniture companies, matching postmodern furniture design with craftsmanship and quality. It’s still in business and still family run.
Postmodernism is an eclectic, colourful style, in art, architecture and in furniture design. This art movement appeared in the late 70s and continues in some form today.
