The Cleopatra sofa bed or daybed was designed in the early 50s by Cordemeijer for Auping. The elegant but industrial design is new in the bedrooms at that time. The boat-shaped dark gray metal frame has slightly slanted, tapered legs and teak wooden ornaments on the short sides. The Cleopatra daybed was sold by the Bijenkorf in the those days.
This Cleopatra daybed can certainly be called elegant. The new, cut to shape, mattress is upholstered with a light gray woolen felt fabric from Keymer. Design, colors and materials complement each other well in this Cleopatra daybed.
